When use aluminum electrolytic capacitor,please notice the cases as following:
1.General ,aluminum electrolytic capacitor has polarity .The polarity is marked on the body of the
capacitor.When mounted it must not be in reversed polarity,and do not apply reversed or AC
voltage,otherwise,the circuit maybe shortened or the copacitor maybe danaged.Where the polarity in a circuits sometimes reversed or unknowns,a non-polar capacitor should be used.Please note that the non-polar capacitors can not be used inAC applications.
2.The DC voltage of application at the terminal of capacitor not exceeding it's rated working voltage When this DC voltage exceeding it's rated working voltage ,itwill result leakage current increasing rapidly and the capacitor maybe damaged.Recommend to use 70~80%rated ,it will be useful for
extending capacitors life.In the case where more than2 aluminum electrocytic capacitors are usedin series .Please make sure that applied voltage will be lower than rated voltage and the voltage will be applied to each capacitor equally using a balancing resistor in parallel with the capacitor.
3.The ripple current of application at the capacitor must be in permit range.If the applying ripple current is over-high,it should result electirc properties and capacitor damaged.Please note that the sum of
ripple voltage peak value andDC working voltage not more than capacitor's rated voltage,and the ripple voltage peak value less than DC voltage.
4.Capacitors must be used in their allowable working temperature range,if capacitors work at room temperature condition,it could extend their life.
5.Do notuse aluminumelectrolytic capacitors in a circuitthat requires rapid and very frequent
charge/discharge,in this type of circuit It is necessary to use a special design capacitor with extended life characteristics.
6.For D≥φ8mm products,equipping with the safety vent.General,for the lead or soldering lug
contructed product,the safety vent is atbase ofits caseforthe screw contructed product,the safety ventis on thecap when using ,the safety vent needs a spaceto work well,following arethe
recomminded space:φ8~φ16:more 2mm;Φ18~φ35:more 3mm;Φ40 or more:more 5mm.
7.Whenthe capacitor is working,the safety vent shouldnot be downward.Do not locate any trace or conductor near the safety vent,preventing the circuit shortened due tothe pressure releasing with the liquid.
8.The capacitor shall storage in thecondition of normal temperature .non-acid,non-alkaliand norma humidity(Temperature:5℃ to 35℃.Humidity:less than 75%RH)If exposed to high temperature,for example,the direct sunlight ,it should effectthe life of the capacitor.If the capacitor storage in the condition of containing acid or alkali,it should effect the solderability of the leads.
9. The leakage current of the aluminum electrolytic capacitor may be increased for alongtime storage,it must be ageing 2~3 hours with applying rated working voltage beforeuse after a longtime storage
10.Soldering temperature for the capacitor do not exceed 260℃±5℃.Soldering time shall controlin 10 seconds.The soldering circuit board,lead or other external metal parts do not touch the sleeve of the capacitor ,otherwise,the sleeve will be damaged andshrinked,effecting the insulation feature ofthe capacitor.
11.Do not apply excessive force to the lead and terminal.Do not move the capacitor after soldering to the PC board,not carry the PC board by picking up the capacitor.Following examples are typical stress to capacitor to be prevented.
(1).Tilt or bend down a capacitor after soldering.
(2).Terminal space didnot fit to the hole space onPC board.
12.The aluminum case is not insulated from cathode.Do not locate any conductor under the aluminum capacitors,on the PC board,otherwise,the circuit maybe shortened.
13.During moving,inspecting and using,the capacitors were carried and laid down slightly,othewise,the capacitor may be darrayed,effecting the appearance and electric properties.
14. For the lead contructed capacitor which their case diameter exceed 14mm,theirleads can not be used for fixing
15.During assembling,if the expesion-proof vent opens,please turn off the power,or pull out the
plug.When the explosion-proofvent activated,there is high temperature gas(100℃)spraying out.Don`t place your face close to it.In case the gas enters into your eyes .Please wash your eyes with water
immediately.Don`t taste the electrolyte,and if there is electrolyte on your skin,please wash the skin with soap.
16.The surge voltage rating is the maximum DC over-voltage to which the capacitor maybe subjected
for short periods not exceeding approximately 30 seconds at infrequent intervals of not more than five minutes.Unless otherwise specified,the rated surge voltages are as follows.
